Small and medium-sized enterprise office

The European Medicines Agency launched a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) office in 2005. The office is dedicated to addressing the particular needs of smaller companies.

The establishment of the SME office followed the European Commission's adoption of specific provisions on 15 December 2005. These provisions were aimed at promoting innovation and the development of new medicinal products for human and veterinary use by SMEs.
